About Dave

A little about me: In 2006, I was drawn into the pursuit of financial success in a booming economy, leading to temporary success but not true fulfillment. The 2008 economic downturn, coupled with a personal divorce, prompted a reevaluation of my values and goals, steering me away from chasing volume and paychecks to focusing on meaningful work and genuine connections.

I returned to real estate with a renewed purpose, prioritizing client satisfaction and authentic relationships over financial gains. This journey has taught me the value of authenticity and genuine care, leading to a fulfilling career and personal life, including teaching, enjoying hobbies, and cherishing family time.

I have had a personal friendship with Jared Toone, the owner of Scout Pest Control since 2010, before Scout was formed. Our friendship has strengthened over the years, and we regularly refer each other customers because of our shared values in providing high quality service to our friends and clients. I use Scout at my properties for pest and termite control and recommend them to all my clients. About Jared Toone

Jared Toone began working in the pest control industry in 2005. He had a college friend who worked doing pest control sales over the summer, and who invited him to join him. Over the years, Jared has worked for various companies in a wide range of roles, from a service technician up to a branch manager. Jared and his wife Ashlee made a temporary move to Athens in late 2009 when Ashlee was pregnant with triplets. They have family here and wanted to be close and receive help while the triplets were young. In 2011, they left for a job opportunity Jared had to manage a pest control branch in Houston TX and to continue progressing in pest control. They knew they loved it here, and it wasn’t long after they left that they both realized how much wanted to return to live in North Alabama again. They decided in late 2012 that it was time to move back, and rather than working for someone else Jared started Scout Pest Control. Scout has grown from a one person operation into the leading Local Pest Control Service in North Alabama.

Jared and Ashlee enjoy serving at church, and in the community. Jared has coaches various sports teams, and has a particular passion for soccer. Jared has served on the BBB Board of directors for several years and loves their commitment to helping create an honest and fair marketplace. Ashlee is now a mother to five, and spends her days homeschooling their children and spending time with family, neighbors and friends. She is an amazing cook, and loves to try new healthy recipes.

There are many fly by night companies new to the area, and while some display lots of five star reviews, Scout has never paid customers to leave reviews or paid for fake reviews. Scout does offer a small bonus to employees who earn great reviews through doing a great job for our customers.
