Do I need to leave my house during a Scout Pest Control treatment?

For the vast majority of our treatments, you are welcome to stay home. In fact, 99% of Scout Pest Control service visits are completed with no disruption to your household routine whatsoever.

Most of our regular service visits focus on the exterior of your home — treating the perimeter, eaves, entry points, and yard — which means you may not even need to interact with our technician at all beyond a quick greeting. When we do treat the interior, we simply ask that you keep yourself, your children, and your pets away from the treated areas until the product has dried, which typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. You don’t need to leave — just give those spots a little time before resuming normal activity in that area.

There are a small number of specialized treatments that do require everyone to vacate the home temporarily. Interior flea treatments require the home to be vacant for approximately 4 hours, and certain interior brown recluse treatments may require 2 to 3 hours out of the home. These situations are the exception, not the rule, and our team will always communicate this with you in advance so you can plan accordingly. There are no surprises.
